Accessibility

Accessibility is a concept that describes the extent to which a given product, service, environment, or system can be used by the widest possible group of people, including older adults and persons with various types of disabilities. Many people with health conditions face limitations and barriers in their daily lives, making such obstacles an unfortunate part of their everyday reality.

According to the latest data from the Government Plenipotentiary for Persons with Disabilities, approximately 4.7 million people in Poland (around 12% of the country's population) live with different types of disabilities. It is also important to remember that accessibility concerns not only older adults and persons with disabilities—it may affect any of us. A moment of inattention resulting in a temporary injury and the need to use crutches, for example, can turn everyday activities into significant challenges. People at risk of exclusion need support and conditions that enable their full participation and integration within society.

As a socially responsible institution dedicated to supporting development and ensuring safety, the Office of Technical Inspection (Urząd Dozoru Technicznego – UDT) also recognizes the needs of persons with disabilities. Through its activities, UDT supports the inclusion of people at risk of exclusion and is committed to creating increasingly accessible and user-friendly conditions for serving all members of society.
